Seamless drawn aluminum tubing is essentially an extruded aluminum tube that is processed a second time. This works by extruding an aluminum tube, and before the tube has time to cool, it is pulled or drawn through a second die to produce a seamless tube at the predetermined size. The warm extruded aluminum makes this process possible and creates stronger and higher quality tubing than standard extruded aluminum tubing.
Another name for this process is cold drawing because the tubing is not at the full temperature required for standard aluminum extrusion. It takes full advantage of aluminum’s plasticity to create the drawn tubing. Drawn tubing works better for handling pressurized liquids and gases.
